WGIRLS Milwaukee Hosts MISS REPRESENTATION Screening

Premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media contributes to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence. The film challenges the media's limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.

Doors open at 6pm. Film intro and showing at 6:30, followed by discussion and networking

Spread the message that more women belong in leadership roles, that the media should make changes to the stereotypes and biases it portrays regarding women and that there needs to be more positive female role models across the board in media so that young women can aspire to become what they grow up watching.

Message Board (Your message will be approved by the organizer before it goes live.)
